On my way home from Nashville to Haugesund, Norway I stopped for a coffee at Tootsie´s at the airport. You were playing there and I listened to a couple of songs before I had to run for my plane. It sounded great so I bought a CD. Never heard of you guys before, but this is gonna be one of my favourite CD´s.

June 1, 2008

My wife and me invited our friends to join us to see Blue Mother Tupelo at Ode To Otha yesterday. Our friends made the road trip in from Birmingham, Alabama to hear BMT. While we enjoyed all the music there, we came there specifically to see you. Our friends have never seen you before and we've been bragging to everyone about your music ever since we discovered you. We saw that you were there and kept hoping you'd get up on stage but you never played! What happened? That really sucked! Your music is so awesome and everyone deserved to ... everyone deserves to hear you! We were so excited for the chance to see you again. But were all so bummed. :( :( :( :(

Keep making your beautiful music and maybe the next time you're in Nashville they'll actually get you up on stage to play. We'll certainly be watching for you!

June 20, 2007

I have been in love with you guys and the music you make for at least 10 years. My husband and I first saw you at Sassy Ann's. We've seen you at many clubs around Knoxville, but our favorite memories of you guys are from the daytime (family-oriented)concerts . . . the KMA gig, a gig you did in the Riverdale Community year before last, down on the Riverfront last spring, at the Shed . . . I've met your Mom several times now, Ricky. We have pictures of some of your neices playing in the grass at Riverdale! We seem to be watching the children of your families growing up from seeing them at the concerts!

We almost missed you last Saturday at the Bar-B-Q in Alcoa, just made it in for the last song cause we were wandering around in the Springdale Community! But I got to lay eyes on you and hear the final song, plus I got a copy of "5 Songs From the Road" so I was happy!

God Bless you guys, the blues you make, and way you make my heart sing. See you at the Picking Parlor or at the Shed! Elvis had fans, the Beatles had screamers, but you guys have friends, lots of friends. Peace and love. I wanna ride in the big car too.

Michael Jensen

March 28, 2007

With little else to do this past week, I surfed the television channels hoping for something more worthwhile than wrestling and talking head chatter.

Lo and behold, I find a tiny film called "Daltry Calhoun". The movie was a somewhat refreshing tale set in the rural South - my adopted home.

But it wasn't the movie that captured my attention. It was a haunting sound track that featured this lovely creature with a voice from God and her equally impressive mate.

I waited anxiously for the final credits to see who was creating this unbelievable music. And as the final - and I mean final - credit passed the screen, I feverishly wrote down the words - Blue Mother Tupelo. Within minutes, I found you on the internet and within hours, I had your CD. You had me at hello....

If an old fart and frustrated folk singer from the 60s can weigh in, you two artists are undoubtedly the best kept secret in the world of music. Where have you been all of my life? Okay, since you're just "kids" I can answer that one myself.

In short, thank you for enriching my world with your talent. I can only hope to cross your paths someday, shut my eyes tightly and have your voices take me away.

Good God, you're good!!!

Brian Donabie

March 15, 2007

I caught your show at The Family Wash and you totally blew my mind! Your voices are absolutely heavenly! Ricky's incredible on all those guitars and Micol's singing and tambourine playing is awe inspiring! You deserve so much more recognition and I really hope you get it! I certainly believe that you will too! Thank you for sharing your creative spirit with the world!

We are thrilled that we got to hear you last weekend! We traveled four hours to see you perform at the Arkansas Blues And Heritage Festival. There was another group on stage when you were on the schedule to preform. What happened? There were many good artists at the festival but we came especially to see Blue Mother Tupelo. So we missed your show at the festival. Someone had told usthat you were going to be at the Pinetop Perkins Homecoming the next day. We did get to see you there and that was tremendous! You were definitely on your game! I don't see how anybody can hear you two sing and play and stay and in their seat!! Have you thought about doing a live DVD? The concerts are so great that I think a DVD would be a huge hit!

Lisa & Sam McEwen

October 6, 2006

Hey Micol and Ricky. We had the pleasure of seeing you two and your drummer perform in Nashville at Christopher's last night. We were blown away by your show. What a gift and talent you both have. Your voices blend, flow and wail as if both voices came from one singer. And the music that you make is so exciting. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better you blow our minds with something else.

We can't wait to see you again at the Americana Folk Festival.

Blue Mother Tupelo is smokin hot! Keep making our hearts dance with your soulful music.
